Rogue One: A Star Wars Story has released a "Celebration Reel!" In the reel, not only to we get to see new footage from the much anticipated film, but we also get to hear from the cast and crew talk about the care and love and hard work that has gone into making the film. Over epic building music, clips from the actual film are expertly cut together with behind the scenes footage showing off the impressive sets and special effects. The behind the scenes glimpses shows that the incredible sets, stunts, and explosions are all for real. After getting burned by vfx messes such as The Hobbit Trilogy seeing old fashion film making always peaks my interest.

I'm not a huge Star Wars, but hearing how excited everyone from the cast and crew is about making this movie makes me all that more excited to see it. Watch the Featurette Below.

The Star Wars franchise seems to have a new model to follow when it comes to releasing trailers. The pattern was created by The Force Awakens, and now Rogue One is following suit. Both films released an initial teaser trailer a full year early that built a lot of hype in the massive fan base without revealing critical plot elements. A few months after releasing the teaser trailers, both The Force Awakens and now Rogue One, have released behind the scenes featurettes that function as another trailer would. While Star Wars certainly is not the first film to release featurettes as part of the marketing plan, their use of the tool stands apart.
